Ransomville, NY…January 1st, 2007...Once again mother nature shined on the big R last Monday as no one could have guessed it was mid winter in New York. A nice 46 degrees and sunshine greeted race fans as they swarmed into Ransomville Speedway. A total of two hundred and forty-four cars registered and a standing room only crowd enjoyed a quick three hour show featuring one hundred and fifty laps of Enduro racing.

Sponsored by Bobcat of Buffalo-the 4 cylinder race was the first to take the green as over one hundred entries filed onto the race track. Scott White of Geottsville, NY took the green at the drop of the green and held it for six laps prior to losing the lead to Tim Phillips on lap seven. Phillips kept his nose clean the remainder of the race and took the green after lapping the entire field. Past winner Mike Pahl of Lockport came home in second followed by Scott Crowe of Eden, NY.

The eight cylinder race had approximately fifty cars take the green. Patrick O'Keefe took the lead early on and swapped it back and forth several times with Mark Palamuso, Dan Shoop, Shawn Hill, and Todd Gordon. O'Keefe took control late in the race and appeared to be on his way to the checkered but mechanical difficulties side-lined him on lap forty-four. After battling back from an early race incident, Alex Morris took control on lap forty-five and maintained it the remaining five laps. The past champion danced on the roof in celebration as he enjoyed his first win of 2007. Word has it Morris will be back in action in the summer of 2007 aboard his recently purchased Jeff Schulze machine.

The final race of the event was the 6 cylinder event. Once again over one hundred entries took the green. Curt Sherwood led the first few laps prior to losing the position on lap five to Daryl Borkenhagen. John Panattoni led laps seven through ten. A hand full of
drivers swapped the lead for the next few laps prior to Jaren Israel taking control. Israel maintained the top spot for the remaining laps and captured his second Hangover Enduro win. Israel became the first repeat winner of the annual Hangover event.
Next on the schedule at the big R will be the season opener slated for Friday, April 27th. A full schedule is set to be released in the next few weeks. Log on to www.ransomvillespeedway.com for more information.
