SUSICE, MORRIS, AND MURPHY CAPTURE CHECKEREDS AT RANSOMVILLE
SPEEDWAY

(Alex and Helen Bruce Photos)
Ransomville, NY…Friday, May 18th, 2007…RStewart
Friesen of Niagara on the Lake, Ontario took top honors last Friday
night aboard the Mighty Taco Modified thirty lap main event. Friesen
used a last lap pass on Kevin Wills as the pair came off turn four
to take the checkered. A very exciting Friesen did the roof dance as
he celebrated
his first win of the season at the big R.

Ricky Richner took the early lead followed by rookie Kevin
Wills. Wills took over the top spot on a restart and quickly pulled
away from the field. A three car battle between Richner, Chad
Brachmann, and Rich Vinson ensued for second while Pete Bicknell,
Friesen, and Todd Burley marched through the field. As the final
laps dwindled down-Wills appeared to be on his way to victory but
Friesen kept chipping away. With the popsicle sticks in the
air-Friesen advanced to second and quickly closed the distance
between himself and Wills. As the pair came off turn four for the
final time-Friesen was able to take over the top spot using the
bottomside and take the win. Wills held on for second followed by
Richner, Brachmann, and Vinson.
Tommy Flannigan of St. Catharines, Ont topped the field last
Friday night aboard the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman twenty five
lap main event. Flannigan took the lead away from John Smith in the
early going and quickly pulled away from the field. With
victory in sight-a caution flew on lap twenty-three bunching up the
field. Don Spatorico led at the line of lap twenty-four but
Flannigan was able to battle back on the outside and take the
popular win. It was Flannigan’s first win at the big R in Sportsman
competition. Spatorico came home second followed by Bob
Broomfield

Ryan Susice of Ransomville, NY took top honors aboard the first
Johnston’s Restaurant Streetstock fifteen lap main event. The rookie
contender has been fast out of the gate this season and had
everything dialed in as he dominated the event winning by a large
margin over Roger Israel and Brandon Sherwood.

Alex Morris of Niagara Falls, NY captured the win aboard the
second Johnston’s Restaurant Streetstock division. Morris took the
lead at the drop of the green and maintained the top spot the entire
fifteen circuits. Nate Vetter came home in second followed by Brian
Sparks.

Adam Murphy took top honors in the NYDCA Open Wheel Lites
fifteen lap main. Murphy took the lead away from Paul Klager on lap
nine and quickly pulled away from the remainder of the field. Shawn
Sliter came home in second followed by Klager.
