ZIMBARDI, ORTIZ,
ZIMMERMAN, AND ISRAEL COLLECT WINS AT THE BIG R

(Alex and Helen Bruce Photos)
Ransomville,
NY – Friday, June 29, 2007 – Another stellar night of racing
took place last Friday night at Ransomville Speedway. Bright blue
skies and a packed house greeted the ASCS Patriot Sprints who made
their first of two appearances for 2007. A total of eighty-one cars
signed in pitside to do battle in the three scheduled divisions.
Jared Zimbardi of Little Valley, NY took top honors aboard the ASCS
Patriot Sprint twenty lap feature main. Zimbardi took control at the
drop of the green and maintained the top spot through the entire
distance. Zimbardi had to withstand several challenges by Chuck
Hebing in the closing laps. Zimbardi took the win over Hebing, Ray
Preston, John Schuyler, and Blake Breen. One red flag slowed the
pace after Geoff Quakenbush flipped on the front stretch on lap
twelve. Quakenbush
was a okay but his racer suffered substantial damage.

Jipp Ortiz of
Ransomville, NY became the seventh different winner aboard the
Original Pizza Logs Sportsman division. Ortiz piloted his Original
Pizza Logs sponsored #0 by Ed Cain on lap nineteen and maintained
the top spot through the final six circuits. Cain and Steve Miller
battled for second with Miller taking the position on the final
laps. This was Miller’s best finish of his rookie season. Cain
backed up his early feature win with a third place finish last
Friday followed by Tommy Flannigan and Steve Schumacher. Many thanks
are extended to Ortiz, Miller, and Schumacher who all took part in
the 50/50 sell-off at intermission. The trio raised $900 in the
sell-off.

Randy Zimmerman took top
honors aboard the first fifteen lap Johnston’s Restaurant
Streetstock main event. Zimmerman took the lead away from Sean Letts
on lap two and was never seriously challenged after that point.
Zimmerman became the eleventh different winner in the full fendered
division. Zimmerman took the win followed by Letts, Burek, Close,
and Morris.

Jaren Israel won his second Johnston’s Restaurant Streetstock main
of the season last Friday. Israel took command at the drop of the
green and held off persistent challenges by rookie contender Ryan
Susice. Susice came home in second followed by Derrick
Borkenhagen, Stewart Kumm, and Dave Jowdy.
