(Alex and Helen Bruce Photos)

Ransomville, NY-Friday, July 6, 2007 – Do weekend series races work??? If Ransomville Speedway is any indication YES THEY DO. The best crowd in ten years packed the grandstands at the big R for the Advance Auto Parts Big Block Modified Super Dirt Series. A total of ninety-six cars also jammed the pit area to do battle in the three scheduled divisions.

Danny Johnson of Rochester, NY took top honors last Friday night aboard the one hundred lap Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series Big Block Modified main at Ransomville Speedway. Johnson took the lead away from Dale Planck on lap eight and maintained the lead position through the final twenty circuits. Johnson and Billy Decker kept the fans on the edge of their seats as they battled nose to tail, bumper to bumper for the final ten laps. At the checkered Johnson was able to hold onto
the top spot followed by Decker, Dale Planck, Tim Fuller, and Brett Hearn. Planck had led the first eighty-circuits.

Justin Wright of York, NY made a rare appearance at the big R and it paid off big time as he took top honors aboard the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman division. Wright took command at the drop of the green and maintained the point position through the entire twenty-five laps. Tony Purgarich came on strong in second but had to settle for the runner up position. Ed Cain, Greg Martin, and Don Spatorico rounded out the top
five. The event ran relatively clean as only a pair of cautions slowed the pace.

Ryan Susice of Ransomville, NY took top honors last Friday night aboard the first fifteen lap Johnston’s Restaurant Streetstock main. The rookie contender took the lead on lap ten after contact up front left current leader Patrick Dell around in the ring. Susice led the remaining distance to the checkered followed by Brian Lonneville, Brian Sparks, Sean Letts, and Kenny Washburn.

Chris Burek of Ransomville, NY took top honors last Friday aboard the second fifteen lap Johnston’s Restaurant Streetstock main event. Burek took the lead away from Alex Morris just past half way and maintained the top spot through the remaining distance. Morris came home in second followed by Nate Vetter, Joe Rickard, and Jeff Schulze.
