VINSON, SPATORICO,
VETTER, CLOSE, and WAGNER CLAIM WINS AT RANSOMVILLE

(Alex and Helen Bruce Photos)
Friday, July 27, 2007-Despite persistent thunderstorms in the
area, Ransomville Speedway seemed to be under an umbrella as they
completed their racing program last Friday night. A total of
seventy-seven cars signed in pitside to do battle in the final event
of July.
Rich Vinson of Sanborn, NY took top honors last Friday night aboard
the thirty lap Mighty Taco Modified feature main. Vinson piloted his
No Blanket Smoke Shop, Vinsons Speed Supply sponsored machine by Mark Golding on lap seven
and quickly distanced himself from the remainder of the field.
Vinson became the seventh different winner in the headlining
division a full straight away over second place running Sam Crogan.
Robbie Krull, Chad
Brachmann, and Todd Burley.
A trio of cautions slowed the main event with many falling victim to
a very racey track surface. Close racing resulted in contact being
made on three different occasions. Getting the worst end of the
maylays were Pete Cosco and Boyd MacTavish. The Modifieds ran a hot
lap session at the end of the night with sail panels bolted on. Sail
panels will be a part of the annual Alex Friesen Summer Nationals on
Tuesday, August
7th.

Don Spatorico of Ransomville, NY won his third Original Pizza Logs
Sportsman main last Friday night. Spatorico took advantage of three
early cautions that kept the field bunched up. Spatorico took the
lead away from Mark Potter on lap ten and quickly distanced himself
from the remainder of the field. Spatorico went unchallenged through
the remaining laps and collected his fourth of the season. Spatorico
holds
a large advantage in the points battle. Potter, John Panattoni,
Scott Just, and Ed Cain rounded out the top five. Just was
later DQ'd for a carb infraction.

Nate Vetter of Alden, NY took top honors aboard the first Johnston’s
Restaurant Streetstock fifteen lap main. Vetter took the lead away
from Randy Zimmerman on lap ten and quickly put a lot of distance
between himself and the remainder of the field. Vetter’s large
advantage was taken away with one to go as a caution bunched up the
field. Vetter led the field back to green and held off Ryan Susice
for the win. Susice,
Brian Sparks, Kirk Tuttle, and Ricky Washburn rounded out the top
five.

Wayne
Close of Newfane, NY took top honors aboard the second Johnston’s
Restaurant fifteen lap event. Close took command at the drop of the
green and led the entire fifteen laps. Close was the fourteenth
different winner in the division. Dan Baughman, Sean Letts, Roger
Israel, and Boots Martin rounded out the top five.

Al
Wagner of Port Colborne picked up the Vintage car win over Doug
Fralick and Mark Loveland.
