Ransomville, NY - Friday, August 24, 2007 – A total of one hundred and five cars packed the pit area last Friday night at Ransomville Speedway. The temperatures were hot and so was the action as a great racing surface greeted drivers providing fans with some of the best racing of the season.
Scott Kerwin of Newfane, NY took top honors aboard the Mighty Taco Modified main last Friday night. Kerwin piloted his Niagara Maintenance sponsored #7k machine by Sam Crogan on lap twelve and was never seriously challenged after that point. Kerwin held a full straight away lead at times as he collected his second win of the
season.
Crogan took the early lead followed by Kerwin who quickly advanced to second. The pair of sevens gave the fans a great show as they battled side by side for the top spot. Kerwin was able to make the pass stick on a lap twelve restart and maintained the top spot through a few caution periods. Earlier in the week-Kerwin didn’t believe he would be in competition as a blown motor side lined the team the week prior. Vic Coffey lent the Kerwin team a powerplant enabling them to be in competition. The Kerwin team thanked Coffey immensely for his generosity as they enjoyed victory lane.

Don Spatorico of Ransomville, NY took top honors aboard the twenty-five lap Original Pizza Logs Sportsman main event. Spatorico took the lead away from Steve Schumacher on a lap twelve restart and was never seriously challenged after that point. Spatorico collected his eighth win of the season and extended his points lead over Scott Just and Schumacher. Schumacher, Ed Cain, Steve Miller, and Tony
Purgarich rounded out the top five.

Matt Cobb of Bradford, Pa won the thirty lap BRP CanAm Late Model feature main. Cobb was in the right place at the right time as he inherited the lead with just a hand full of laps remaining.  Current leader Randy Hall appeared to have the race in hand but mechanical woes side-lined him on lap twenty-four. Hall headed pitside while Cobb went on for the win. Paul Grigsby, Jim Johnson, Mike Williams, and Bob Buono
rounded out the top five.

Dan Baughman of Lockport, NY took top honors aboard the first Johnston’s Restaurant Streetstock main event. Baughman became the nineteenth different winner in the entry level division after leading all fifteen circuits. Sean Letts, Kenny Washburn, Stuart Kumm, and Ben Harms rounded out the top five.

Nate Vetter won his third Johnston’s Restaurant Street Stock main. Vetter took the lead away from Boots Martin with the white flag in the air. The pair went into turn four side by side-Vetter appeared to slip high making contact with the Martin machine. Martin suffered a flat tire while Vetter went on for the win. Chris Burek, Kirk Tuttle, Webb
Nashwinter, and Ricky Washburn rounded out the top five.
