Ransomville, NY – Saturday, September 15, 2007 – It may have felt
like winter but the action was hot at Ransomville Speedway last
Saturday as one hundred and five cars jammed the pit area for the
annual King of the Hill Streetstock Championship, Bobcat of Buffalo
Enduro, Sportsman New Winner Race, and 4/6 Cylinder Enduro.
Pete Stefanski of Wheatfield, NY won the 100 lap King of the
Hill treetstock Open. The Dirt ProStock pilot took the top
spot away from Nate Peckham on lap ninety-seven and maintained it
through the final three laps. Nate Vetter, Jaren Israel, Dana Aikens,
and Tim Bruce rounded out the top five.
Dave Mannise took control at the drop of the green and quickly
pulled away from the field. Mannise was able to maintain the top
spot through several caution periods and looked to be well on his
way to the King of the Hill honors however mechanical woes
side-lined his efforts lap seventy-eight. Nathan Peckham inherited
the lead and held it through lap ninety-seven when Stefanski
advanced to the point position using the inside lane. Stefanski led
the remaining three laps to the checkered. Peckham’s great finish
came to an abrupt stop when he lost the right front sneaker and
ended up making contact with the turn four guardrail.

Jesse Cotriss collected the win aboard the twenty lap Original
Pizza Logs Sportsman New Winner race. Cotriss sat on the pole by
virtue of his heat win and led all twenty circuits enroute to his
first ever open wheel feature win. Cotriss held off persistent
challenges by Scott Just whom came home in second. Bob Broomfield,
Nate Reynolds, and Derek Smith rounded out the top five. For
Reynolds-it was only his third start in an open wheel car. Hats also
off to Smith who came from the last starting position to finish in
the top five.
Representing the Wilson Firehall-Mark Brown took top honors in
the fifteen lap Bobcat of Buffalo main event. Brown used lapped
traffic and a bit of contact on the final lap to take over the top
spot from Chris Lederhouse. Lederhouse hung on for second followed
by Jim Stone.

It was survival of the fittest in the thirty lap 4/6 cylinder
enduro as early leaders Nate Reynolds and Justin Israel both ran
into difficulties while leading. Greg Robinson inherited the lead
from Israel who slowed in the late going. Robinson maintained the
top spot through the final laps enroute to the win. Steve Matson and
Reynolds
rounded out the top three.
