BICKNELL, FRIESEN,
ISRAEL, RAYMOND, AND BROWN TAKE TOP HONORS AT RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY
Friday, May 09,
2008-Ransomville, NY-SUCCESS-that is the word to be used to
describe the 51st season opener at Ransomville Speedway. One hundred
and ten cars jammed the pit area on a clear and cool May evening.
Add that with a packed grandstand and an awesome speedway-the end
result-SUCCESS!

Mr. Small Block Pete Bicknell captured opening night laurels aboard
the Mighty Taco Modified division. Bicknell used his outside pole
starting position to quickly jump into the lead. Bicknell would not
be challenged as he blistered the field and led the entire distance.
Bicknell held a full straight away lead by lap twenty-four. Robbie
Krull and Jon Miller rounded out the top three. A total of
twenty-one Modified contenders took the green.

James Michael Friesen took top honors last Friday night aboard the
twenty-five lap Original Pizza Logs Sportsman main event. Friesen
took the lead at the drop of the green and held off defending
champion Don Spatorico for the victory. Friesen collected his second
feature event in just five days having won his first ever the Sunday
prior at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park. Spatorico came home in second
followed by Mike Bowman.

Jaren Israel of Wilson, NY took top honors aboard the first Ki-Po
Chevrolet Streetstock fifteen lap main. Israel’s fast time during
time trials two weeks prior earned him the pole position. Israel
would never be seriously challenged as he led the entire fifteen
laps. Patrick Dell and Derrick Borkenhagen rounded out the top
three.

Tim Raymond of Niagara Falls, NY collected the victory
aboard the second Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock fifteen lap main.
Raymond took the lead at the drop of the green and maintained the
top spot through the entire distance. Kenny Washburn and Chris Burek
rounded out the top three.

Mark Brown took top honors aboard the Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall
Enduro Series twelve lap main. Brown took the lead away from
teammate Jamie O’Donnell in the late going to take the victory.
