Ransomville, NY –
Friday, July 18, 2008 – A total of one hundred and seven
cars signed in pitside last Friday night for the 12th
straight night of racing at the big R. Mother nature
provided a few sprinkles-just enough to cool race fans down
as temps were in the 90’s at race time.
Todd Burley of
Spencerport, NY took top honors last Friday night aboard the
Lucas Oil Modified Shoot-out thirty-five lap main. Burley
took the lead away from Jeff McGinnis on lap twenty and was
never seriously challenged after that point. Burley extended
his points lead aboard the Mighty Taco Modified division
with the win. McGinnis, Pete Bicknell, Scott Kerwin, and
Chad Brachmann rounded out the top five.

Steve Schumacher of
North Tonawanda, NY became the ninth different winner in
the Original Pizza Logs Sportsman division. Schumacher took
the lead away from Mike Short with just a couple laps
remaining in the twenty-five lap feature and held it the
final circuits. Short held on for second followed by early
leader Curtis Friesen. Don Spatorico and Jipp Ortiz rounded
out the top five.

Roger Israel of Wilson,
NY won his second Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock feature main
for 2008. Israel inherited the lead on lap eight after
current leader Sean Letts had a motor led go. Israel led the
remaining distance holding off Alex Morris in the final laps
for the win. Morris came home in second followed by Kenny
Washburn, Scott Krull, and Ricky Washburn rounded out the
top five.

Wayne Close of Newfane,
NY became the thirteenth different winner in the Ki-Po
Chevrolet Streetstocks with his win last Friday. Close
jumped out to the early led at the drop of the green and all
but checked out on the field. Just prior to the first
caution flying on lap nine-Close had built up a half a track
lead. Close held off persistent challenges in the final laps
by Webb Nashwinter for the win. Nashwinter came home in
second followed by Boots Martin, Stuart Kumm, and Chris
Burek.
Jamie O’Donnell of
Wilson, NY took top honors aboard the Bobcat of Buffalo
Firehall Enduro Series. O’Donnell took the lead at the
mid-way point and held it the remainder of the distance. Jim
Stone, Jonathon Stoelting, Dan Szratter, and Eric Gunio
rounded out the top five. Stone emerged with the points
lead.
