Ransomville Speedway

Ransomville Speedway Profile: A.J. Custodi

Living around the corner from Ransomville Speedway, Aj Custodi was always at the track or watching the haulers drive by and listening to the announcers from his backyard. Five years ago, Custodi made his debut in the Novice Sportsman Division. Custodi has been making his way through the ranks and three years ago he moved up to the Sportsman Division and has been getting better every year. In 2019, Custodi placed 4th in points at Ransomville Speedway, 6th in points at Genesee Speedway, and won his first ever feature in the sportsman at Genesee Speedway in October. In 2020, Custodi says he and his team have decided to “race less and win more”. He has spent the last few years getting seat time, running upwards to 50 races a season. They decided that 2020 is not going to be like that. Custodi says, “we are going to dial it back on the amount of shows and put the money where it matters to consistently finish better, to keep us motivated and more importantly get our sponsors more spotlight that they deserve”. They don’t plan on running any series for points but would like to compete in bigger money races. He is a fierce competitor that is making his way to the top but Custodi says that “Ransomville Speedway is the most competitive track in WNY, Canada, and PA. Anyone good at Ransomville is good almost everywhere else. You really don't see that type of skill until you get out toward Land of Legends Raceway or Weedsport and I think that it holds exceptionally true to the modified class as well”. Custodi and his team are prepared for a fresh season and cannot wait until the green flag drops at Ransomville Speedway. Custodi would like to thank Lakeside Landworks, King Petroleum, 5G Properties, Lewis & Lewis, Snelgrove Welding, Seider Firewood, Harbison Farms, Jonsie and the Cruisers, and West End Stitchery for their kind 2020 sponsorship and partnership. Custodi would also like to thank Joe Seider, Kyle Doty, Donny, Kyle Arnie, Zach, Slosho, Taylor, Tomi, Kirk, Steve D., Dave Flanagan New Generation Racing Engines for their unconditional support throughout his racing career thus far.

Who is a driver that you look up to for inspiration?

“Without a doubt, Erick Rudolph.”

What fuels your race teams motivation?

“Starting from scratch without any prior knowledge of racing and seeing the speed in progress.”
